The village is 3 km from Aridea for baths and until 1998 was community and included small villages Ano Rodonia and Mikrochori.

It bears this name since 1923. Before called Bizio Machalas and its inhabitants were entirely Turks, but after the Asia Minor Catastrophe and the population exchange inhabited by refugees who came from the shores of Marmara mainly from villages Gonia, Armoutli, Gentze, stool, Triglia, Ayvali, Bursa , Izmir, Katirli, Safranbolu, Antampazar, Artaki, Panormo, Amasis, Vaivouri, Vaiziri, Vaniri, Caesar Karaitini, Ortokio, Pouesi, turban, Sivas, Trabzon.

During that period they settled in the village and a few families from the nearby Loutraki.
"Piperia" name given to the village by the refugees who were impressed by the many peppers cultivated by the Turks.

The villagers were industrious, peaceful and progressive but also mood and zest for feasting and jokes. The first years faced many difficulties but prospered and developed.

Refugees course knowing the art of viticulture in 1923 brought the first vines and viticulture since to date is a very important production of the village. The first vineyard was installed but now it was there opposite the farm cooperative.

Other crops which operates the village are peaches, plums, cherries, asparagus as well as clover, corn and wheat.

The local agricultural cooperative is very active and exports many of its products, and supplies the internal market and promote for industrial exploitation.

In the village there is a very important historical relic: the image of the 12th century Assumption derived from Gentze village of Panormos Asia Minor and moved with many dangers here as a brave Greek the "Mariorakena" The picture for many years it was miraculous but after 1970 was silenced. This image is located in the church of Pepper which was built by the residents from 1953 to 1965.

So the village from the old days they held the feast of the Assumption, which was the largest and best known in the area as it hosted a special miraculous image.

In recent years revived the celebration of the Virgin on 14 and 15 August at the initiative of the local Educational and Cultural Association with the support of the Municipality of Aridea.

Another notable event also held on the penultimate Sunday of November, by the same bodies in autumn is raki feast. In the village produced excellent, pure, traditional raki at a time when the fraud in this product is very widespread. In this celebration so that the moonshine certainly flows in abundance, accompanied by a variety of snacks, feast, dances, there is a large influx of people from the surrounding areas and beyond.

"Piperia" has plants producing raki, sweets, jams, compotes, pickles, pasta. There are 5 tennis courts and a basketball court, where a lot of people play sports from Aridea and beyond.
